The Shoulder: A One Day Seminar

Eight Continuing Education Hours: $195

If you have taken the Upper Extremity seminar, this class is $125. If you have tested out of the Upper extremity, this class is $100.

If you have taken this class and wish to take the Upper Extremity seminar, the cost for the Upper Extremity seminar is $295. If you have taken both the Upper Extremity and the Call to Arms seminar, the Upper Extremity class is $225.

The Shoulder Seminar is a one day adventure that takes a very precise look at one of the most common areas for treatment. In this training we will take the Saturday section of the Upper Extremity seminar and focus on the major humeral muscles.

Participants will learn the mechanics of the shoulder and discover how muscular influences can disrupt normal joint function. By learning to measure joint range of motion, participants not only learn hands-on techniques, but are also able to evaluate their efficacy by careful re-evaluation. We will also clarify red flags for treatment using orthopedic testing. In addition, strategies for addressing tendonitis, frozen shoulder, and rotator cuff injuries will be addressed.

Seminar Objectives

  1. Participants will learn to measure humeral motions of forward flexion, abduction and internal / external rotation.

  2. Participants will learn the different scapular motions and how they relate to humeral mobility.

  3. Participants will learn to treat muscles that restrict various humeral ROM’s

  4. Participants will learn to use orthopedic testing to discover red flags for treatments.

  5. Participants will learn to assess involved muscles using resistive testing.

  6. Participants will learn to use passive ROM to reveal possible intrajoint issues.

  7. Participants will learn how muscles play into various shoulder pathologies such as impingement syndrome, Frozen Shoulder Syndrome, and Bursitis.
