PNMT Research Symposium 2007

Seth Will

After nearly ten years, the dream of having a conference where therapists can share their clinical research finally happened! On February 17-18, 2007, the first PNMT Research Symposium 2007 was held in beautiful Lake Geneva, WI at the Grand Geneva Hotel. The hotel and the surroundings were beautiful and a great place to have a conference.

While I have a chance to meet many amazing therapists who attend our seminars around the country, I often wish that many of you could meet each other to share similar interests and expertise. At the Symposium, therapists from around the country had a chance to exchange and develop ideas. It was inspiring to see small groups of therapists sitting and discussing ideas relating to PNMT.

Perhaps the best part of the Symposium was seeing how dedicated other therapists are to PNMT. Each person was an expert in some small area of the work and graciously shared his/her knowledge with colleagues. I think all of us had the sense of the vibrancy and passion of the PNMT community.

Some of the topics of research presented were:

  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Musician Injuries
  • Restriction in Neck Rotation
  • Migraine
  • Two studies relating to TMJ Restriction
  • The Efficacy of Massage for Anxiety and Depression
  • Correlating Scapular Position and Neck Pain
  • Psoas release and Spinal Compression
  • Handedness and Shoulder Problems
  • Anterior Inclination of the Pelvis
  • Exploring Current Knowledge in Anatomically Short Legs
  • The Relationship of Hamstring Length and Pelvic Angle

Please consider coming to the next Symposium. We are considering when the next Symposium will be but have decided the location will be Indianapolis. The form will be different- there will be several educational presentations interspersed with the research presentations. This will give participants a nice balance of hands-on time plus new research data. Stay tuned for the date!
