Emphasized as absolutely necessary by Dr. David Simmons of the Travell and Simons Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction manuals, post-treatment stretching and range of motion to muscles that harbor trigger points will greatly potentiate effectiveness of other modalities performed. As propoundad by Dr. Simmons and experienced in clinical practice by our organization, if muscles that harbor myofascial trigger points are not brought to full length after treatment it is likely that they will reform. In these two intensive and information filled seminars, various aspects of myofascial pain and dysfunction will be explored with a focus on its treatment by Precision Muscular Mobilization (PMM).

PMM is a system, that at first glance seems as though it is mere simple stretching, however after the finer points of this wildly effective form of therapy are fully appreciated, it is much more intricate and thoughtful than simply stretching. PMM is about the precision of mobilization procedures applied to the soft-tissues of the body. Another way of saying this is that the focus and goal of PMM is to make mobile the moveable regions of the body, with consideration given to all of the reasons for limitation of motion that could occur.

PMM is uniquely suited to those with previous experience in PNMT or other NMT classes, but is also immediately applicable to all other forms of bodywork. PMM is both a method of applying mobilization procedures, as well as a way of thinking about and assessing myofascial pain and dysfunction.

This class is divided into two classes, one for the Spine and one for the Extremities. Each class is two days, Saturday and Sunday, 9-6.
