Introduction To Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT) Testing and Treating Forward Head Posture

Three Hour Seminar: Cost $45 (The student who has never attended a PNMT class may apply that $45 to the next PNMTseminar offered, making the class FREE!)

In this seminar, the participant will be introduced to the principles of PNMT. These include the concepts of structural analysis, measurement of ROM, orthopedic testing, precise palpation, and strict adherence to outcome objectives. Participants will walk away with hands-on techniques to use to correct Forward Head Posture (FHP) and also attain a greater understanding of the larger issues affecting outcome-based soft-tissue therapy.

We think students will enjoy the precise palpation skills and the clinical insights.

 

Seminar Objectives

  1. Student will recognize and palpate the transverse process of C1

  2. Student will recognize and palpate the spinous process of C2

  3. Student will perform the Spurling Test and recognize a positive test

  4. Student will understand the significance of a positive Spurling Test  and demonstrate proper response

  5. Student will identify the ideal cervical extension

  6. Student will identify cervical muscles that often limit cervical extension

  7. Student will identify structural considerations resulting from a constricted SCM

  8. Student will identify indicators for treatment of  the SCM

  9. Student will identify common conditions following a whiplash injury that an injured SCM can causes

  10. Student will recognize the adaptively shortened muscles in forward head posture

  11. Student will identify the nerve that may be entrapped by the semispinalis capitis

  12. Student will identify the muscle that is nicknamed the “headache muscle”

7:30 – 8:20 Screening Tests / Measurement/ Anatomy

8:20-8:30 Break

8:30 -9:30 PNMT Manual Techniques for the anterior neck

9:30-9:45  Remeasure

9:45 – 10:00 Testing
